Our Vision and Character Education
Our School Vision
Our shared vision is to provide a happy and stimulating learning environment where children thrive and will recognise and achieve their full potential, so that they can become good citizens of the future.
....a friendly, caring place where children and adults feel they make a contribution and are valued as individuals.
...a safe place with good behaviour and values, where children learn respect for themselves and others.
...a place where children develop a love of learning inspired by quality teaching that builds upon strengths and talents.
... a partnership between children, parents, staff, governors, other schools and the community as a whole.
Our motto is:
Aim high and Smile
Character Education
We are a happy and caring school where our children are inspired to love learning. We have high expectations of positive behaviour and attitudes, and we aim for all children to become responsible citizens of the future.
Education for character is an integral part of our school.
Every child is valued and respected, and we believe a strong link exists between character and attainment. The aim of Character Education at Turvey Primary School is to develop confident and compassionate pupils who are effective contributors to society, successful learners and responsible citizens. Through our focus on character education, we can help children develop self-esteem, understand and respect for others, be aware of wider spiritual and cultural issues, and fulfil their potential. We have a role in developing our children holistically to ensure that they are well-rounded individuals, ready for the next step. We encourage positive feelings of self-worth in all children. We believe strongly in our important role in shaping our pupils’ future, and we are increasing their chances of success in life by developing their character.
We focus on six key virtues across the year:
